Get over yourselves

Get over yourselves

I believe in loving thy neighbor. It is a great practice that I think everyone should adhere to, but what about those that are not your neighbors? Should the Biblical text be taken so literally? I refuse to believe that if Jesus existed, he would treat an American any differently than another group of people. That just does not make sense or even appeal to me. It is crazy how politicians can take the word of the Bible and spin it into supporting war and the condemnation of people. I think people that can do this have really missed the point. Everything that Jesus said in the Bible is a parable. There are a few times this is said in the Bible, yet we believe that we should take the Bible as absolute truth, or at least those of us that where raised in Christian households. It Absolutely contradicts Jesus to be a messenger of the word, instead we should be looking for deeper truths. Baptism is a Buddhist practice. So when asked where Jesus has gotten the authority to teach what he has taught, he replies that he will tell you when you have found out where John the Baptist has gotten the authority to do what he does, meaning the East. Jesus was a guru, ya'll. Stop killing people and blaming it on religion. It is all the same thing, get over yourselves.
