Free is Free
Free is Free I recently had 3 sheds on my property torn down. The person that did the work was not paid for his labor. Instead, he was told to take whatever materials he wanted from the tear down and make whatever he could and keep what materials he wanted for himself. Today he removed the metal and hauled it to the recycling center to get paid for that. He also took some of the gutters and down spouts for his home. Now all that is left is the wood from the sheds. I put ads out on , Letgo and Craigslist for FREE Scrap Wood. I get these responses. Some want me too deliver the wood to them. That is a big hell no. The wood is free, come and get it yourself. People respond that they want the wood but won't commit to a date and time. people said they would be here today to get the wood, NO SHOWS. WTF????? It's FREE wood. I see people with ads of wood for sale, but never any free wood. I never would have thought it would be this difficult to give away free wood. Lesson learned. And the wood is certainly reusable to those with the creative know how. |

people are strange they believe if you are giving it away it has no value but if you charge for the same thing then you add value to it so if you want to get rid of your garbage ask for a hundred bucks, let them talk you down to fifty. donate the fifty to a food bank, or a charity of your liking. that way your garbage will be gone you would have helped someone and you would have a reason to sing people are strange bonne chance there is a world of difference between insanity and stupidity

Put a sign out front that says "free wood."

What you do is offer to sell it then when they try to talk the price down you offer it for free if they come pick it up. Everyone thinks they have to haggle so you play into that.

Once you said Free, you opened the flood gates. Then they wanted delivery. Should have said for sale $20 then have them talk you down. Got it down to $10 and everyone would have been happy.

Who wouldn't want something for FREE? Maybe I'm missing something here.
