Watching Videos

I have been watching you tube videos for about 2 hours now. I have been watching videos of people screwing with Indian Phone Scammers. They call police departments and try to scam police officers, too funny. They call software engineers and any number of very tech savvy people. One guy was actually running a virtual machine to keep the scammer from "Microsoft" busy while he traced the IP address and the ISP of the scammer. Then he finally let the scammer know what he did and that he was putting everything on you tube for everyone else to see the real info. He then proceeded to tell the scammer that he was going to provide all the recorded info to his internet service provider and so on. I love it when the tables are turned on stupid people. Not only that, but there is a huge illiteracy problem in many countries like India and Pakistan. Many of them are very poor and illiterate and trying to make money to send to their families. They make about the equivalent to what a work at home customer service person makes here in the US. So its basically just above minimum wage. Do not feel sorry for them. The law enforcement agencies and government are extremely corrupt in these countries. The only reason the FBI and Interpol took down some of the IRS scammers is because they were posing as a real US government agency. All the other scams that go on....the FBI doesnt really care about.

Also, be aware that these scammers come in two categories. The first person you talk to is probably not tech savvy at all. Just someone who answers the phone and tries to hook you. The second group are the computer geeks. These are the engineers that cant find a job because of the caste system and because the market is inundated with engineers. Also, they cant get out of India and get to another country to actually make some money.

But messing with them can be so much fun.

I particularly like the one where they keep telling the guy there is a problem with his Windows computer - and he's on a Mac.

Had a friend a few years ago carried on an email exchange with one of those Nigerian scammers, they actually went back and forth for quite a few emails until the scammer realized he was never going to get this guy's bank information.
