Proper Grammar

Proper Grammar

One of my biggest pet peeves is people using improper grammar, punctuation, or text speak when sending me a message. It is an instant turn-off and disqualifies people immediately.

A helpful guide:
You're - you are. "You're sexy"
Your - possessive. "Your ass is great"
There - a place. "I'll meet you there"
Their - possessive. "That is their profile"
They're - a contraction for They Are. "They're a sexy couple"

Does poor grammar automatically disqualify someone who messages you from consideration for sex?
Yes - poor grammar is a turn-off and I won't have sex with that person.
No - poor grammar doesn't bother me enough to disqualify that person.

I reckon over 50% of people use "your" incorrectly, either through ignorance or laziness. But that also indicates that at least 50% could not care less.

For a lady, absolutely! But here, it all depends on what she expects.

Honestly, women should be interactive, taking control over who 'they select' and who is let in the door. It's far too easy to get distracted by shiny baubles and superficial criteria instead of focusing on substance (not to mention defining that substance).

On the internet, that means using communication skills. How someone writes is the first indication of who you're talking to. If women really want to meet a dumb ass, there are plenty of specimens around to choose from.

Finding men that can stimulate a woman with words takes quite a bit of effort and insight. It is the same for men. She may not have to be Einstein's sister, but a woman that can effectively communicate is so rare - it's sexy in ways that do not need to be said!

Only if we are going to be writing to each other on every date!
I wouldn't get in the same car though!

Using more than all the road!

Like someone said before, intelligence is alluring
That having been stated, a typo is something one can disregard

We are here on adult dating site, and for me it doesn't matter if a person's grammer is wrong. Even if it's not wrong in day to day life, I have observed that people tend to write abbreviations while typing only to save enough time.
That doesn't turn me off. I may be perfectionist, but not in every aspect. We are here for adult fun and that's what matters here.. I also know no one is perfect in this world, so i dont expect people to be perfect in grammer.

This doesn't turn me off.. atleast on this site...

It's a total turn off for me. I get embarrassed when I make errors on my profile. I think if you're really trying to meet or have sex, put your best foot forward. Let the person imagine an awesome you. Don't give an opportunity for a bad impression.

Yes! Thank you! I may be slutty, but I'm not easy. People need to step up their game because I get so many messages that I need a quick way to weed people out.

I wouldn't necessarily rule anything out with someone just for poor grammar. It is a pet peave in certain situations though, and yeah, text-talk is an annoying turn off when used indiscriminately...

I've been accused of being a "grammar Nazi". It drives me crazy really, just a pet peeve. But, as an older single guy, I wouldn't use grammar as a criteria for sex. Hygiene? yes. Attitude? yes. But not grammar.
