This is fucking disgusting. While dozens of taxi drivers in Manchester drove victims free after Monday nights bombing. Uber raised their prices by 300% due to extra demand.

 Not that price gouging would ever be right in that situation , but you have to remember Uber is basically run by computer program or algorithm. Where a cabbie can make a human and immediate decision someone at Uber would have had to heard the news, made the connection and then somehow changed the program that runs the app. I don't think that would have been a quick and easy change even once aware of the tradgedy.

 Uber's developing a bad reputation. They're in legal battles with companies like Google, they will lose customers over this, they lost customers over crossing the taxi strike when it came to protests in the U.S., and they stiffed a lot of their drivers. I'll be installing Lyft.
