author51 thanks for the inspiration!
author51 thanks for the inspiration! I read author51's post "PLAY ME". I have been playing the guitar since I was 14. In reading her post it inspired me to write this poem. Thanks for the inspiration! My guitar is my best friend in a way I could not live without her She is my source of comfort My peace of mind She never disappoints me She is always there for me I have only to reach for her I have only to open her case and she is there My Savior To sing and play my guitar is therapy It takes me away from all my troubles It takes me to a peaceful place I am free from all worry All my problems disappear She is my release I can let go I can let my emotions run free I can be myself Without judgment Without criticism She is a true friend |

But one well-deserved don't you think! I'm sure there are plenty of guitar players who feel the same way.

Thank you for your comment! Very thoughtful and kind words! When I first learned to play the guitar, I tried to learn to read music. But didn't keep it up, wasn't really interested in reading music. I play by ear as well. Listening to songs on the radio; records. Buying chord books. Nowadays you just have to go on YouTube and can learn exactly how to play a song! I also play a little piano.
