Support those First Responders

Support those First Responders I was tasked yesterday with helping Deputy Don put together baskets for our police departments. "Can you help me put these together? I don't know what to put in there.... If you leave it up to me, they're getting cookie trays." "Oh my God... You can't give them just a cookie tray. Tell you what, it's a bunch of guys, you bring them food and they'll remember it forever." "Um, yah." "They need coffee too. Let's just put together a bunch of stuff for their break room that they can just all snack on." "I was told absolutely no donuts thought." Nobody said, no donut shop coffee though.... We wound up giving each entity a veggie and dip tray, a fruit tray, banana nut and chocolate chip muffins, cookies, and a couple of bags of coffee.... Because I have a sick sense of humor, the coffee not only included a big bag of Medium roast coffee, it also included a smaller bag of donut shop blend and a smaller bag of Death Wish coffee. Yah, I'm that nerd that is still chuckling about that even as I write this. I wished I could have been there to see what the reaction was when they got the baskets! Deputy Don actually got those honors but he did say the look on the recipients face was priceless. The donut shop blend went immediately to the coffee maker and the Death Wish.... "It was funny. He picked up the Death Wish and said, this is for third shift." Just some food for thought for you guys today.... Don't forget those first responders this holiday season. I'm not sure what their policy is on giving... But if you have the ability to thank them in even the smallest of ways, they deserve it. Even our was met with smiling faces and first responders breaking into them before they even hit the table. Tis the season.... Happy Wednesday! |

I got to thank my local police the other day ................... for NOT throwing my oldest G-girl in jail when they found her a a couple of her friends wandering around in a local school that was closed for the holidays.

Yes, they certainly deserve it. They all have to do a devil of a job.

The Death Wish coffee...that would make some great cold brew coffee. Get all the caffeine for one heck of a buzz! lol I'm sure all the goodies were greatly appreciated!

There's never a time limit on a thank you! Especially when they're heart felt and appreciative!! Sounds like you had a lot to be thankful for, too! Happy holidays to you too!!
