A tale of two friends...

A tale of two friends... Two met in a 7th grad art class. Starting out as enemies..... They tended bully each other and were exceptionally mean in their criticism of the other. One friend was popular, the other was not. Because they were both smart, talented girls, they had several classes together as they were advanced for their age and tended to sit near each other in all of their classes so as to allow their continued rivalry and bullying of each other. The enemies became friends by the end of the year.... Best friends Their friendship continues to this day, each knowing the other inside and out. Thirty four years of 'what do you think of my new glasses' and 'do you like my new haircut'. Thirty four years went by in a flash. One friend married and divorced, suffering all of life's tragedies with the other by her side at the drop of a hat. One friend secure in her life, good marriage, supporting family with the other friend happily living vicariously and cherishing all those good moments. I found out today that my very best friend of thirty four years has cancer. I'm at a loss. |

Sorry to hear about your friend, I hope that she has a good prognosis. Cancer isn't necessarily a death sentence. My best to both of you..
