Oh... You were looking for me, were you.....

Next time, check the back parking lot.

Look for the buzzards.....

They'll likely be circling a BBQ grill and my dehydrated corpse, in the blazing hot sun.

The day had come that I was actually grill master during our workplace cook out yesterday.

I was psyched!

Beautiful day.... Paid to stand outside and cook for a few hours.... What could be better?

Anything could have been better!

The grill had been set up, this time, in a spot that was full sun and all parking lot. Heat lines were waving up and I could hear cicadas buzzing in the background. The only thing missing was a tumbleweed rolling in the distance.

It was a breezy day, but not where I was!

I was in that special spot of Hell where the most evil of creatures reside...

The cookout was a success and everyone enjoyed their brats and dogs, but I looked a little worse for wear the remainder of the day.

I can't be pissed at the person who set up the grill, though....

They fully believed they were doing me a favor, they set it up in a spot that was close to the door so I wouldn't have to walk so far with the food.

Yay me....

Poof!

(That was me disappearing in a flaming poof of smoke out by the grill.)

Yesterday we weren't too hot, which was odd because we're on a stretch of 100* days.
Yikes! So, what is 'not to hot' in your neck of the woods? 95 degrees in the shade?

Oh dear McLade, do the guys not usually take control of the barbie? Or did you warn them all off before hand? I know, McNoseHairs was worried about catching fire!!
They normally do take charge, but I wanted to do it this time, so I told them all I was doing it. (Which is why they moved the grill closer to the door, to make it easier on me.) I was SO wrong.... SO, SO wrong....

Request a shade structure the next time. Surely someone at work has a large umbrella or a square sun tent (no sides - Ezee Up in one brand).

Glad you survived. Drink extra water today.
I did survive, and, I did drink a ton of water last night. We actually have one of those shade things for store use and had considered bringing it out when I thought it was going to rain. Boy, that makes me laugh now. LOL

    noway!
you can always depend on a guy to forget the napkins, but never the beer or umbrella
next year they could try shifts so only brats cook, and not the cooks
I've already suggested we not use that spot again for any cookouts. There just isn't any air flow and it's full sun. Add heat from the grill... and.... Viola!! Misery!!

I was wondering what that soaring fire ball was from. Could see it all the way over here!

Next summer you'll know to suggest a shady spot and a wheeled cart for the food.
That was a smoke signal... Saying Hi from Gaylord! LOL I actually would have been just fine carrying the brats and dogs. Sometimes, people tend to over help.

I've managed to live to tell the tale... So they won't be picking my bones today. LOL

Not going to lie, I was pretty much a sweated out mess when I was done with the cooking. LOL I don't think I even get that sweaty at the gym!

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!
