New Day.... New Lexmark Technician


After speaking the last Lexmark technician, a representative from Lexmark, and our ITS department, I finally created a ticket have printer looked at because nobody seemed be able fix the problem.

Why the LAST Lexmark technician couldn't FIX the problem while he was in office is still a mystery .

For days the top feed copy function of printer was experiencing quality issues as black lines were being copied onto everything I copied.

Not ok.

Fast forward to today... A winter storm day that ended up closing schools down and creating some very hazardous driving situations.

A day when most people stay home and wait the storm.

Apparently not Lexmark.

So, a Lexmark technician shows up in office and asks what the issue is. I proceeded place a blank piece of paper in the top feed and copy.

The copy that it produced was about 3 lines away from being a bar code

Lexmark Technician - I see the issue.

Lifting up the feed tray, he ripped open an alcohol wipe, swiped it across a long, narrow piece of glass, then lowered the tray.

Lexmark Technician - Ok, all fixed.

Placing the blank piece of paper in the feeder tray once more, he copy. Not a single .

- Are you KIDDING ???? Why didn't they just tell do this over the phone! That literally took 10 seconds. 10 Seconds!!! How far did YOU have to drive to get ?? And, in a blizzard no less....

I was fuming.

I learned, today, that the imaging window can get ink lines from time to time that just need to be wiped off with a glass wipe.

Thank God they sent that technician into the storm to drive an hour to wipe printer with a glass wipe. Whatever would I have done without him.....

He totally refused to look at it, said he was only contracted to install the staple unit and that I should call Lexmark to schedule a repair.

I'm certain he was. The guy didn't seem bothered at all that he drove over an hour for this minor thing. He literally said "I'm not in a hurry."

No, this one did not flirt at all. I'm sure it was because I was openly expressing my opinions on the whole situation. I created that ticket 2 weeks ago, I was in complete disbelief.

He's riding the clock. Probably stopped at a bar on the way back to work for a couple of hours and blamed his delay on road conditions.
