Get What You Give?

Get What You Give? I BELIEVE in the phrase "you get what you give" AND I live by it EVERY day as well as EVERY time I get to PLAY. What are any of your thoughts on that phrase?

For me I turn it around, because I find I am always more giving. So I try to give what I get normally, so I am not always giving and giving. When it comes to play, I don't mind so much. I enjoy giving more than getting for the most part.

...true that is... my word is reciprocity... doesn't mean equal because everyone's likes and needs are different... ...equal becomes more like negotiating to flat calm water and ultimately ends with nobody totally being pleased...reciprocity is more like giving in directions that are tailored to delight the recipient.... jmvho...

granted, in the moments as they are, I seem unable to articulate, as at the moment, my thought (reasoning) is compromised by the intake of alcohol (feral grin) That being said, we get what we put in, but all of life and the universe, ever seeks a balance. there is a balance to be had, by investiture and the need for immediate satisfaction. In that duality, if we can stand back and view objectively, we see both are equal. For instance, I have tasted of you, and felt of you, in my mind's eye, again and again, yet, we have never known of one another. Reality, is in the middle, somewhere.

I believe in our dualities, in every aspect of our being. Our individual value systems are based off of a duality, the two juxtaposed points of assessment ( right vs wrong, off vs on, black vs white) that become a trinity when we objectively view ourselves admidst the two juxtaposed points of reference. ( the point from which we view the disparity) I believe each and everyone of us, has the cravings of immediate satisfaction as well as the seemingly higher reward of an extended investiture. So, in any given moment, we get what we put in, as well as wanting it right now.

"you get what you give" What are any of your thoughts on that phrase? A nice but inaccurate concept to teach children. The truth is , you will NOT always get what you give. Nature doesn't work that way.

Well I do think over all in life its true. You get back what you put into it. I understand some peoples feelings about being on here. One can put alot of time and effort in and get nothing back. As far as playtime, you are dead on. The more you put in the more I get back.

What you don't get is that the complimentary fake women the site provides to the guys here aren't capable of giving anything. So you give money(some do)to belong and 98% of the time get nothing in return.Men give messages and women get those messages and not one of the 10's of 100's they receive are ever worthy. Using more than all the road!

It seems like I am expected to give and give and give, and no ever seems willing or able to give to me. Likely because I associate with all the wrong people. Not the Whole Truth but the truth that I can see.

It's a good verse to live by---but over the years i've met many more takers than givers!!

To answer this question I'll have to qoute to the words of the modern day poet Kid Rock that sums my feelings up perfectly. "I been giving just ain't be getting. I've been walking that there line. So I guess I'll keep a walking with my head held high I've keep moving on and only God knows why."
