I can sympathize . . . I lost one of those "once in a lifetime" dogs almost exactly a year ago . . . & while I'm currently loving & enjoying the little girl I adopted a month ago, Abby (she was a Jack Russell/Lab mix . . . died when she was 15 years & 1 month old) will ALWAYS have a very, very special place in my heart.

Awwwww....I'm sorry for your grief! It is a tough thing to deal with...they go deeply into our hearts! I have a cock-a-poo named Jake who will turn 13 in February, and he has been by far the best dog our family has ever had.

So sorry. I must say, it may sound strange, but get another as soon as possible. I did after I lost mine of 14 years but if you can save one or two go for it. That is what your old friend would want for you. He stayed with you as long as he could and will be the first to meet you on the other side. I am so sorry for your loss and hope you find peace and happiness.

Sorry to hear of your loss, I have a picture frame with all the dogs I have known over the years and miss them all, sometimes I dream about them, such memorable characters, not got one at the moment. My advice is get another one soon.

Lost my dog a few months ago, it's so hard, but he was loved and that's what really counts.

I know that this was a tough loss for you. I remember what it was like when I lost my favorite dog ever. I hope you have a much better fall.

Sorry for your loss. That's a tough one, not just a pet, but truly family.
Time does pass faster for us as we get older. At 5, a year is 1/5th of your life and seems to last almost without end. At 50, a year is now 1/50th of your life. A much smaller portion and takes less relative time to go by.

I am so sorry. I'm sure you gave Gus a GREAT life. I'm also sure that if he had a choice, he would have chosen to be in your arms in his final moments.
