Thoughts in Autumn Dear reader, we are now well and truly into Autumn here in the Northern Hemisphere, the weather is cooling (after an incredibly hot summer), leaves are changing, now we need a cold snap followed by a good storm (this is the rail-worker talking: this would mean getting by the usual season of leaves making rails slippery quickly = fewer delays). In a weeks time I'll be in London with my 12-yo niece, showing her where her mother and I spent three years of our childhoods, going on the London Eye (which I've actually never done), having a proper afternoon tea, seeing a play, and a couple of museums (Natural History being the choice of my dinosaur-mad niece), doing some shopping. I really look forward to sharing my love of a city with my niece, and seeing her see it for the first time, Also looking forward to Chinese, Indian, and other good food..... Otherwise it's been a blah week, with me being sent home from work on Thursday, when my colleague was fed up with my sneezing, coughing, and generally having the onslaught of a cold. I stayed home Friday, letting the fever burn itself out, and have felt much better today, so will be back at work on Monday. Sex? Not for over a year now (if you don't count fun with my vibrator), but I hope to do something about that in the coming months..... |
