Thoughts on holiday

Ahhhh, about halfway through my summer holiday, which has included some amazing music at the Tønder Festival last week (and over the weekend).

Monday I left Tønder to go up to Glyngøre, where I'm spending the week in a holiday home. I went by way of Süderlügum, just across the border in Germany, so I could do a little border-shopping, before going North. Unfortunately this led to someone hitting my car, breaking the the rear window. (My theory is someone in a campervan, with bikes on the back - big enough not to notice, and just pointy enough to just punching a couple of holes in the window). Unfortunately, they didn't leave a note, and there were no witnesses. There WERE witnesses to me losing my cool, and shouting a few choice words - an elderly gentleman looked quite shocked, but understood when he saw the window. He also offered plastic garbage-bags and duct-tape, so I would be waterproof. I happily accepted, and after I stowed my shopping (closing the side-door very carefully - which brought down most of the window), and having gotten hold of a broom from the store (didn't want to leave all that glass in their parking-lot), I was on my way, tears of absolute anger streaming down my face.

I got to Glyngøre after 3 hours - not using the freeway, just the country roads - and could relax in a lovely house, with all the amenities. And yesterday I got hold of a car-glass company, through my insurance company. They're coming tomorrow to put in a temporary window (plexiglass), and then next Friday they'll come to my house and put in the replacement window (takes them a while to get hold of the right window for a 14 year old car - plus they had to have time to do the work, too).

On Saturday I'll be at another amazing concert here in Glyngøre, with some people I really like.
