Plant Killer!!

I adore MOTHER NATURE ... the trees when they are covered with snow, when their leaves turn colors and grace the ground beneath us. The lite of the stars when they are brilliant in the sky above, watching for that ever elusive one that shoots from the heavens. The moon at nite when it's smiling, when it fades in and out. The clouds as they dance by, their patterns changing, in the minds eye, you see all sorts of kewl shapes/things. The petals of flowers, vibrant and free, the way the tickle your nose when you smell them. And, I appreciate those who use their talents so those of that don't have a green thumb can see so much beauty in the world ...

When it comes to being in a relationship with a plant ... that's way too much commitment for me ... remembering to nourish, especially every day = a few days on DEATH ROW for my new found friend = EXECUTION ... ya, I'm really NOT okies with this ...

When I got my place three months ago, she showed up with an apartment warming gift ... HOLY CRAP ON A FUCKING CRACKER - FOR THE LUV OF ALL THAT VIBRATES ... as I saw her carrying it ... WELL, FUCK ME ...

So, she brings it in and I put it on top of my microwave. It's blue - of course - beautiful. It's an Orchid and the directions are pretty simple: "every two weeks, feed her 1/4 ounce of water, keep her out of the sun. Considered naming her, tho, in my head, already calculating how long my new friend will survive ... absolutely not long enuf to learn her name!!

Gave her water on the first day she came to me - xactly 1/4 ounce. The first two weeks she looked amazing, and sucked up her next bit of food. On week five, her petals started to shed, sprawled out on top of the microwave. Barely holding onto life for now, her untimely demise lingered. By her third meal, she had not one ounce of life ...

So, she's been on the other side for bout forty-five days. I really don't want to bury her corpse in a dumpster - UGH! So, I'm taking care of her shell, keeping hope and faith that she will once again thrive ...

Me and plants simply don't get along! My best has always been the artificial kind but then I get tired of dusting them lol.

Never liked orchids my lady, too tedious for my taste, and the sun around these parts is unforgiving - are you sure this one is dead ?

Cooking herbs, on the other hand, is entirely a different thing, and I try keeping some, in pots on the terrace ...

Cheers - P

Awe my friend your not a "Plant Killer" as I am not either but I am just not the best person with plants either, although I do take care of a fern when I happen to have one. You know my hubby is a "GREEN THUMB" he used to have an incredible garden with everything in it..

I hope your Orchid Plant will come alive again, and all goes well. I hope you enjoy a wonderfully fun Hump Day..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

I can picture you dusting fake plants - LOL ... in 9th grade, had a nun who was EXTRA bat shit crazy, she made me water plastic plants. And, feed them Tylenol to help them grow ...

orchid blooms do not last that long. the plant does. getting them to bloom again takes the real care. they do not live in dirt so they need the water. i assume it is planted in water absorbing material. usually they are best on something that allows air to pass underneath. it actually looks pretty good. just cut off the dead bloom stem.

Uuummm - looks like dirt to me - LOL ... this plant stuff makes me a very unhappy camper. I'll keep watering it for another few weeks to see if she gains any signs of life. If not, a nice ceremony and off she goes to meet her maker ... stay safe!
