Scary Experience ...

I was out and bout today and decided to stop at Super Walmart to pick up the ingredients I need for my Saturday nite dinner date. It was 6 miles or so from where I was, and, 2 miles from my apartment. So, I'm cruising with my I-POD, jamming out, the AC cranking, An ordinary day ... until it wasn't ...

At like 4 miles, a lite my dash came that I've never seen before = not good. Turning back towards home, I asked the Universe to get me there safely several times. 3 miles left, when I my brakes, they felt like loose, like no traction. On then comes my ABS lite - radio going in and out - AC turning off and on. At that point, I was starting go into a panic attack. Just kept talking to the Great Spirit, asking over and over watch over . Almost home - 2 miles go. Third lite comes , it's like a person with a seatbelt, but I couldn't tell if it was buckled. Dash blinking - felt like my car was possessed. Remembering breathe, bringing myself down. My car was getting slower and slower - lunch hour rush - round 1 mile till my complex. Asking the Powers-That-Be not let anything happen ...

It seemed like fucking forever before I pulled in and parked. After turning off the engine, I tried restart. Nothing - just that dam clicky sound. The dash was exactly the same as it was when I turned it off. Took a pic so I could see what the fuck was going ...

Owners manual ...

The first lite was a battery symbol, with the little plus/minus = no charge going the car. Battery and/or alternator. Of course, ABS = brakes. The person thingy was for the restraint system. So, basically, the entire car was shutting down as I was driving it ...

Put a call into my insurance to send a tow truck. This bozo came in a pick - with no tow the back. First thing he does it try jump . Altho it did work, the dash was still lit . He tells run it for like 30 minutes and the lites will go out. Then, tells that he can get a battery and his friend can come later in the nite install it - totally sketchy - like no fucking way. Now he says that I've got to put another call in for the tow truck. It's hot as fuck and I'm not a happy camper ...

Back in I go and call back. The guy was very nice and had someone here within the hour. Back out I go, hoping they sent a real tow truck this time ... it like was like looking at one of the leashes that have no dog ...

So, the second guy comes ... equipped with a personality! While explaining to him what happened, he was very empathetic. I could feel my insides starting to surge. He could tell i was freaking the fuck out. Told me he would care good care of her - not to worry ...

So, at the dealership she sits, waiting to be seen in the morning. Regardless of the cost, it could have been so much worse. I'm so grateful to the cosmos for keeping me safe, grateful for the guy ... he was such a sweetie!

I thank the stars above on a daily basis. For this guy and the company, I wanted to do something to show my appreciation. Getting a thank you card and a Visa gift card and dropping it off ... figure a few beers would be nice ...

Oh sweetie, I am so sorry this happened to you. I am so glad you are alright and I am glad you called for someone else to come after that first guy, that is pretty sketchy and scary.

I am so glad the second guy was able to be there for you and help you through your car issues. And I am sure he will appreciate a gift card, that's so sweet of you to do.

I hope what ever is wrong with your car is a minor issue and a non expensive one as well. When you first mentioned the brakes, I was thinking omg I hope no one did anything to your car. You will have to let us know what happens with your car.

Stay safe and I hope your able to have a great weekend..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

Aaawww, ty, my friend ... my dash looked like one of the rainbow brite thingys - LOL ... ya, I had a bad feeling bout the first guy as soon as he pulled up. I felt totally blessed when the second guy showed up - I'm sure my token of thanks will be appreciated. Well, just called ... they are still doing the diagnostics - definitely won't be getting it back today. Looks like it could be pizza for my date Saturday nite instead of London Broil! Have a blessed weekend! *huggles*

I am so sorry that this happened to you. It's sad how there are so many incompetent people who work on cars. I won't call him a mechanic because he didn't seem to be one. Thank God you called a second guy who did the right thing. But the most important thing is that you are okay. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and a great date night

Mr - aaaww, ty ever so kindly! Rite?! It was really one of moments that leaves you speechless. I'm Italian - doesn't happen very often! Absolutely, staying safe is the most important. It's the alternator, pizza and no dishes! Ty - have a fabo weekend!
