Quote Of The Day: 6-29-20

"For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness." - Unknown

Anger is powerful by it's very nature. With the door open, it hovers like flies garbage. The slightest opening often breeds revenge and hatred. In the of a finger, you can be overtaken by it's side effects ...

Process it - close the door - throw the key into the Universe. If we carry it round with us, we may soon find ourselves locked in, the weight of the door like a steel beam lying across our soul crushing it ...

Listen for the sound of happiness - it's calling ...

Anger is a very destructive emotion. I spent too many years living in it. Such a waste......one of my few regrets. Fortunately behind me now.

Hope you're well your vivaciousness!

Like you, I believe that *happiness* and *anger* are choices that I have the requisite self-awareness and discipline to make and/or override. That said, I also maintain that many (most?) people have neither the strength nor the resilience to check their emotions. In many cases, a lack of self-control reflects a lack of control of environment (food, health, income, family) and the individual is literally crushed under the weight of crises in her/his life. Others (I suspect) revel in the heightened pulse, blood pressure, heat, sweat and other symptoms of anger and stress, much as an athlete chases dopamine highs.

For the rest of us, your quote provides an excellent pause to reflect.

lindo - we all have regrets. Accepting our mistakes and learning from them, exactly what you did, is all anyone can do. I'm sorry you had to go thru it, tho grateful you came out on the other side, not such an easy task ... *huggles*

justaguy - sadly, I have to agree with your thoughts. There are so many times, that, by nature, a "choice" is laced with circumstances one didn't ask for, therefore, they didn't technically "choose" for their backpacks to contain a ton of bricks. The human race needs to be more cognizant of it's own kind, understand that there isn't a "magical cure". As a SOCIETY, we need to step the fuck up. If one wants to be part of the problem, that's their issue, and they are entitled to do exactly that. For me, I much prefer to be part of the solution and do my best to make that happen. Appreciate your response - thank you! Hope the day has been kind to you ...

Charles - unfortunately, those words can prove to be true. It's such an injustice we do ourselves. This is the first time I'm hearing this Jedi thingy - makes sense to me. And, of course you did! Thank you for stopping by!
