I get this question a lot even from family as if they are still optimistic that I'll one day will have a child. I am a doggy mommy, a work mommy, and absrep mommy. You don't need kids to feel or be a mother.

Bacon - Lettuce - Tomato: we are so much alike - crazy stuff!!! Being Italian and having been married to a Greek, it was like sacrilegious not to pop out any "buns from the oven". There are those out there that don't necessarily understand some things just aren't choices - they just are. Whatever the reason for no biological children, my soul is a nurturing one ... *hugs*

Being a mother, doesn't necessitate having to be a birth mother. I was fortunate to be raised, to any perspective, by three ladies to whom I am eternally grateful for, and only one was my birth mother.

@Devilish - so true. I still have that maternal instinct at times. I'm fortunate enuf to have other avenues in which to use it other than popping out a kid of my own ...
