Bullfighting (Spanish: corrida de toros) When I was in Madrid, my Malaysia friend asked me want to see bullfight? He said this is a blood sport. We asked the front desk how to go the bullring? She answered you are too late; it’s hard to booking the ticket now. Really? It was hard to believe, Spain had bad economy, hadn’t? So we still want to the bullring. So many people were in there. Fortunately, we got the ticket, but the seat had sunshine, in there the sunset on PM9:00.
…. The sequence of events begins when the bull faces the picadors — these are the men on horseback and jab the bull with a lance.
After the picador has finished his sordid business, the assistant matadors then get to work with the banderillas (sharp, harpoon-like barbed instruments).
(To be continued….)
