I disagree. I feel that it is the gentlemanly thing to do. ESPECIALLY IF I was the one asking to meet. If it were the other person asking, I would be okay with them picking up the tab. And I never feel like anyone ever 'owes' me anything. Over the years, I've usually picked up the tab but I did have one relationship whereby she was way more affluent than I was so we usually took turns picking up the tab.

On a first date I would assume that the bill would be split; going Dutch stops any sense of obligation, plus it's fair!

Depende del momento. Hay veces en que se quiere agasajar a la otra persona y se lo invita pagando lo consumido. Lo que si digo es que puede ocurrir desde cualquiera de las partes y no necesariamente del hombre a la mujer.

It makes sense to me. In a relationship even it should be 50 50. But what about a situation where your only job in life is taking care of your lover your home and your family. Not sure that pays well enough to go dutch. Lol I have always been blessed with the ability to provide so I have never asked a woman to work outside the home. I should have you think?

I agree women should pay their way although not every woman earns the same as a man many earn more and that is a good reason to join a union, equal pay for the job. All this doesn't mean you can't treat someone and as the woman might have paid out for some enticing lingerie then it will all even out or thereabouts. xoxo

I prefer to pay my own way until there is a relationship. Then we can take turns if thats easier. I don't need a man to buy me anything, including Cowboy. I taught all my kids to be strong, financially independent humans.

I don't have a hard and fast rule on this. I tend to at least OFFER to pay for my own (and always am prepared to do so or at the very least kick in the tip), but don't let it become some kind of argument if they insist on paying unless I get some kind of feeling that they are expecting something in exchange. Beyond first meets, I tend to be more of "Hey I'll get it this time, you can catch it next time" or vice versa. My first meets are often just lunch so it is never more than like ten or fifteen bucks tops anyway. I don't feel like I take advantage of anyone.
