Call radio stations? 🤔 That's a trick question , right? Of course, but not always to request a song; many times, it is to share my point of view on some topic — a lot of fun. I've won stuff, over the years, but never that damn $10,000 Dream Prize. These days one of my stations is asking us to identify a song with a bundle of notes clustered into one second of sound. FFS ya think that's even possible? No one else does either. By the time I dial, the lines are busy and Sally or Jane or Bob, have guessed wrong — again. I'd never win, I'm shit when it comes to remembering a current song title. In the past, I have won many concert tickets from our country station...many tickets were for Johnny Reid's various concerts over time

That Bob gets around he does. We have the same Bob here on 102.2 FM. Classic rock from the 70's, 80's and today.  Only entered a radio contest once, but won the contest. The prize? A Christmas tree , and 500 dollar shopping spree at a Garden Center so we could decorate the tree will all the trimmings. When we got done, the tree was dripping with decorations and we still had money left to use. Have a good one my friend.

Sounds good did you win ? Over here in the UK Planet Rock has a listener Rock Block twice a day where people send in about 20 tracks and a few words about themselves and then they play an hour of those songs, no prizes. They often pick a woman's choices and from world wide to, if you have a go and they are going to play yours give me the nod. xoxo

I've entered, or tried to at least, various contests on the radio. Never have won.  I have managed to be successful a couple of times in requesting certain songs for airplay. Back in the day, there was a radio station based out of Long Beach, CA, that catered to the more hard rock/heavy metal crowd. Its call letters were KNAC, 105.5 FM on the dial. It was a very popular station for many years, then went ton online airplay in the early days of the interwebz. I'm not certain if it's still online anymore... But I digress. I called in one day, was able to actually talk to the DJ on duty (imagine all that!), and requested the song "Be Quick or Be Dead", by Iron Maiden. I was babysitting my friend's toddler at the time, and that kid got into EVERYTHING! Best song ever!  Of course, the child in question is in her mid twenties now.
