No E.D here, and my hips are so far, so good. I had 20/15 vision until my mid forties, and now I need readers for anything closer than two feet!

I'm very hard off hearing. I don't list it on my profile but do, and have written about in my blogs.

When you have cataracts on your eyes, driving is like that also. I've had both eyes done.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm I'm a published poet with 9 books in publication and that I have C.O.P.D and can't work any more are my little secrets. I want to take you into the fiery lair of steamy sexual delight on this hot sultry night.

Blogging makes me open up, so I can see why we post these kind of things. Although some things should be left off depending how the Blogger feels.

I suppose there’s an inherent distinction between what we put on our profiles versus blog entries due to the audience we are writing to. In my case, my profile was always meant to attract people for fun conversations about anything. My blog on the other hand is free therapy. Venting, creating and joking around come what may. Could I put in my profile that I suffer from depression, weight issues, poor eyesight, bad taste in horror movies and clean freakiness? Sure. But I’m lazy and that little link on the profile that says “my blog” does the trick Or at least that’s my take. And hugs to you, Joy. Keep on blogging. My name is MrWrong and I approved this comment

I guess profile and blogs both have something in common, we share something we want to share, or don't mind people knowing. Profile is try to get to know someone, and maybe being friends or more. While to me a blog is for your friend, something you think they might like. But, the circle of friend, I have in my circle, we know each other, beside what on your blogs. You are in my circle too, but you know that.

Personally I think of our profiles as our first impression location, a place to introduce ourselves in a way that might set us apart from every other person lurking around. Blogs, on the other hand, are a more personal, intimate way to express ourselves and open up more about who we really are. No, I don't advertise my faults, illnesses, or imperfections on my profile. But if I went out in public (bar, restaurant, or othe gathering place) I wouldn't wear a sign advertising them either. Generally I think we try to make a good first impression and once there is a mutual interest in getting to know each other we open up more. I think that's why I am more drawn to the blogs on this site . . . people tend to show more of their true colors and give us a better glimpse into their thoughts and desires. Well that, and I can't read profiles anyway. *smile* Thanks for the thought-provoking post. ~myst~

I hope they get a cure for you my blue eyed friend. I have pretty much steered away from sharing anything really personal about myself, but it is safe to say that I don’t have erectile dysfunction. I do have sensitivity to bright light though and chronic dry eye. Funny women are incredibly sexy!

i think our profiles are more an entre in to the system/site and meant to attract people. Our blogs are more personal and ,if ongoing , will reveal more of ourselves. Which is why i direct people to the blogs IF they are looking for realness.... For the most part the bloggers have proven to not be ...fakes...n scammers. If you want to try and understand the real person....read their blog.~~

Eventually the truth is set free.. it is the other person who is told the truth to be strong and charasmatic and supportive..or run away and not giving things a chance

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL eyes. Make a man melt.

I am not sure if a person is being unrealistic to think that a person that might be interested in them will not try to see if blog posts are also available. If someone is really interested they should look into any extra sides of the personality. I would hope that in messages that the person can find out the true person behind the profile

Sorry to hear about your eye problems. I am fortunate to have good eyes but I can feel my hearing going slowly away. I have also gained weight sense I quite smoking. It's all just part of life.

My profile is public. My blog is my friends. I know we start out as strangers, however if they return they become friends. I have not even read my profile in a few years - time to update it. I'm sure I did not disclose there that I am not fond of giving or receiving oral sex.

Oh, boy, did you open a bag of worms with this blog post? Honestly, it's refreshing to hear that everyone has dirty little secrets, even me. So, here are mine: 1. I have asthma, which I have blogged about. 2. Hubby doesn't let me play nearly as much as he used to, so meetings are far and few between. (Insert sad face here.) 3. I have revealed that I am a musician, on profile and blog, but I am also a church musician. I know, I know, I'm going to hell. LMAO! Have a great day, and be nice to one another.

Joy one thing about getting older is that unless we are very lucky most of us have diseases or disorders that threaten certain parts of our body functions or longevity maybe they wouldn't show up if we hadn't managed to extend our lives by around double what nature intended, that is for us in the first world but there is no need to feel that one has to broadcast the fact to all and sundry. xoxo

Years ago, not long after joining this site, a local lady pointed me to her blog as way to get to know her. She was right, as are you, in pointing out how this is a much better way to REALLY get to know someone. As you know, I've met many bloggers in person and it's always so neat how we're totally best friends that very first time we meet in person - and YES how that means there is not need for a big delay in getting nekkid, if that was in the cards. What my blog shows that my profile does not: #1 - How big a perv I am. #2- That there is more to me than #1. My mental illness is in my blogs but it doesn't say in my profile. I have told one that I met about some of the stuff that's happened to me because I wanted to be upfront and thought that we could have something but needless to say I was ghosted by that person. So now I don't tell anybody when I meet them what's going on with me I'd keep it all in because I'm afraid that they won't want a person who has a good heart that's going through some mental stuff. You know we all want to be loved unconditionally no matter what we are going through in life. I never talked about my left eye in my blogs but I do have a stigmatism in it. I never talked about really the cataracts surgeries or the knee replacement surgery.

probably any of my health conditions! ....maybe my baking/cooking talents?...

Sorry to hear about the eye issues. Aside from the usual aging issues I often mention in my own blog I'm pretty much ok physically. Mentally.... well... there are those that would argue I was always marginal there..... smile...
