Movies, are a big collection for me. Books follow at a close second. A couple of antiques not much really.

I have a small collection of British motorcycles, but when my Ex moved out she left 25 yrs of "tins" behind. I stacked them in the closet for her, but when she passed they became mine. I've been adding to them and get excited every time I find one. They're all empty, but I just like having them, I do NOT know why.

Hi Joy.

thanks for taking me further.

I collect books and sports memorabilia... but, I could part with any of them at any time...

the people... that is a smaller group... for the most part they can come and go at any time... but, once in the tree of trust, they'll always have a place... like a Beatles' song..

"All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall..."

The Beatles - "In My Life"

There are places I'll remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life, I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know..."

I have saved some items that might be a collector item when the great great great grandchildren are adults. LOL
I don't collect stuff. If I stumble on old coins, stamps or records I do have a place to keep them. It is funny you mention collectibles because I read an article about records that are worth a few hundred dollars to mostly under $6,000.00 but a few were in the stratosphere thousands of dollars. Might you have some? Google "collectible records" or albums. Don't toss, garage sell or target shoot records!!!!

Oh you sure have the wrong question for me!!! I am at a time of my life when I realize my collections are a burden rather than a pleasure. I have no children, and no relatives to leave things to. I have a almost 9yr old godson, I have never met, and beyond that, I just dont have a clue, and I really dont have time to sell these things as I thought I would quite some time ago! So what do I do with it all?
Dragons, mostly sculptures, some boocs, and pictures.
Cats, mostly sculptures, lotsa boocs, lotsa pics, # of items now rans in the thousands !
Die-Cast toys, mostly Matchbocs cars, from the 50's 60's & 70's, some Hot Wheels, and a variety of other toy cars, upwards of 40,000 toys !!
Trains, mostly HO scale, and a few others, only about 100 items
Coocing ware, 4 compleat sets of cast iron pans, all US made, from 15inch down to 3 inch, a few deep pots, and other odd items
Glass cooc ware; mostly Corning but lotsa Fireing, and other, enough to set up 3 houses at least
Other coocware; Tupperware, of 70's & 80's(was a dealer once), and lotsa antique deperession ware, and much more.
Coocboocs, over 3000 & counting
Boocs; at last count which was previous to 2005 I had hit 30,000 boocs, since 2006 to 2016, got rid of most I had collected over that 10 years, now am seeing a cpl 100 in my room and more in my storage trailer, plus thos 30,000 in storage elsewhere.
Photographs, at last count over 70 GB of pics of many diff subjects, plus hard copy still numbering several thousand. Those will be the easiest to be rid of, since I can reformat flash drives.
Albume, LPs 33&1/3 records; about 15000 or so, Also cassettes, and CDs - These are at least sellable !
VCR tapes, about 8000 mostly TV shows from the '80's, '90's and 2000's.
And more, to much more, sigh !
I am just trying now to figure out what to do with this stuff, as I have prob well over 100,000 invested in it, but it would be several years to dispose of it all.
And then there are the family heirloom items, which no one else in the family seems to care about!
If there were museums for this stuff I would probably give alot of it away. And dont say auction, cuz my dad tried that and it was a misrable failure !
So there you have it, in my very own self built nutshell !
