People forget that as we get older we start to lose our friends mainly from natural causes. That is when the children and hopefully the grandchildren come in.

Christmas can be lonely as you age and the young don't always realise it till they get old.

That hasn't answered your questions.

I tend to call and try and visit people to give them cards and also a present, which can be difficult to find as no one ever wants anything. I usually shop from January onwards as I see something I think is good I buy it.

I have given up sending handwritten letters etc. as nobody can read my writing.

I do send Christmas cards, but only about 10 or so to people I've been sending them to for years. But as time goes on, the numbers are dwindling.

I don't always get a card back from everyone, but that doesn't matter - it lets them know I'm thinking of them.

I send out about 25 each year with little personal notes. Each year I probably get about 10 or 15. I especially look forward to seeing each and every one. Recently I get more that are the picture variety and those are nice especially from those I don't get to see on any regular basis. Best to you!!!

It is awesome to get them in the mail...certainly more fun than bills.....lol

I don't send out many cards, mostly to family and some friends....but I do usually write a short personal note.

I love the holiday, because of the excitement of my grandsons. Nothing like watching a kid opening presents that Santa has brought them, and a Mom Mom that loves them!!

Haven't done cards or letters in a long time. Time being a significant factor.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

I sent a couple of notes to a lover and friend that did very nice things for me and had a birthday. That was back in August.

It is all about attitude, approach and presentation! What is your AAP?

You're right about enjoying the feeling as you open a card with a hand written note. Every year that is something that is taken to heart and sent in the snail mail.

No shopping yet,,,I do send Christmas cards,,,the number of cards that get sent is shrinking yearly. I usually will write a short note on the left hand inside of the card. Last year I sent a print out letter to everyone...lots went on last year.
I don't do handwritten letters because I hate trashing reams of paper...spelling and rewrites. I use the word program to compose a letter and the printer to produce the hard copy letter.
Thanksgiving comes first then Christmas stuff in my world,,my world is very small...ha ha

Hi Joy...

the last time I did that was when I sent you a christmas card and a birthday card... just sayin'...

seems like a long time ago...

hmm...

I do think it is special to receive something from a person... where they took the time... to write... package... and mail it to you...

I remember getting your card... it felt special...

almost like 'knowing' you... in the biblical sense... almost...

I'll leave you with another classic... OMG... two in one day...

The Beatles - "P.S. I Love You"

As I write this letter
Send my love to you
Remember that I'll always
Be in love with you

Treasure these few words till we're together
Keep all my love forever
P.S. I love you
You, you, you

I'll be coming home again to you, love
And till the day I do, love
P.S. I love you
You, you, you

As I write this letter
Send my love to you
Remember that I'll always
Be in love with you

Treasure these few words till we're together
Keep all my love forever
P.S. I love you
You, you, you

As I write this letter (Oh)
Send my love to you (You know I want you to)
Remember that I'll always (Yeah)
Be in love with you

I'll be coming home again to you, love
And till the day I do, love
P.S. I love you
You, you, you
You, you, you
I love you...

I used to send a ton of Xmas cards, but social media has made them sort of irrelevant.

I love your photos! Glad to see you sharing the Joy!

I love sending cards all year long, not just holidays. Most of the time I write my own-I feel if you cannot express yourself to someone you care about, the behind-the-scenes writers can't do it better. I have an entire bag full of cards so I never run out- there' is always something appropriate ( and sometimes not- there ar a few Naughty ones in the collection )

An actual real card that you can hold in your hands is so, so much better, and knowing that the writing was done by their hand adds a sweet personal touch.
