Never Meant To Be My Happiness A Poem

My friend said something
That was so very profound
When a man for the umpteenth
Time let me down.
"He was never meant
be my happiness."
It was simply put
And most probably correct.
In fact the man was causing me
So much distress.
The worry, the bother
Would not be worth
The moments of pleasure
That he promised.

It all boiled down this.
The man cared little about me.
He was so very selfish.
He played and toyed
With my emotions.
Perhaps that was his plan
All along and upon which
He got off.
Sadistic pricks do exist.
But in any case.
I have come to find
He was never meant
To be my happiness.
