Some Kind Of Hero A Poem He was a comfort to me. When my heart was breaking. He, my online friend Who lives far away He was there for me when I needed consoling. Boy did I need him! He knew just the words I needed to hear He seemed to know Exactly what to say Perhaps he had been The consoler to many Another friend. He was like a sponsor In one of those Twelve step programs He was like a mentor For some endeavor. He was and is to me Some kind of hero. He would not want That name attached to him It is kind of quaint And naive But he really stepped up When I needed someone To listen and give Me advice on a sad situation. In short, he made my night Less painful. I am way better off Not wallowing And being depressed. I am actually not Beating myself up For that is what I would have done In the past When faced with A similar circumstance. Independently Romantic Sounds Better Than Lonely |
