Some Advice A Poem

I needed some advice.
So I asked for your opinion
You did not disappoint
Your answers reasonable
And honest.

I can be quick to jump
To a conclusion
This time I asked
If you thought
My assumption was right.
You said you thought otherwise.

It was good to do
This exercise.
I could have made
A bigger mistake
Had I done what
I had thought
Was warranted.
Instead my hesitation
Might make a difference.
For the positive.
I have avoided
Showing my weakness.
In a situation.
I avoided admitting
That I was at fault
As you pointed out
That might not be
The case at all.
