To Keep Or Tweak. A Poem

I wanted to capture you
Like a photograph
But with my words
That come from
My mind and heart.

If I do not do you justice
Please don't sue me
For malpractice
Perhaps I can
Do some editing
To make the picture
More accurate.
Aha! That is the best idea
I can work on your depiction
Until nearly perfect.

But knowing myself
I go by my first draft
And instinct
Like they were
Divinely inspired.
Well that heretofore
Has been my<b> philosophy.
</font></b>Should I stick with it
Like the hard changing
Proverbial habit?
I will weigh my options.
To edit or not to edit
What at first seemed perfect.
But with review
And rumination
Could very well
Use some tweaking.
