Life Has Passed Me By. A Poem

Life has passed me by
So much that I could cry
In the middle of the night
The tears may fall
I dare not sob
For my breath
Could get caught.
And I could
Very well suffocate.

How ugly I must look
Luckily I only have
The company
Of my little dog.
He does not judge
In fact he offers comfort.

And I sigh
If only my life
Had more comfort of
The human kind.
If only one love
Had been reciprocated
I would not be
In this predicament.
Thinking of all
The time I lost
Without a love interest.

If only I was made
Of stronger stuff
That cared not
That I was all alone
And without love.

Independently Romantic Sounds Better Than Lonely

Stronger stuff.
The stronger stuff.
Is that what I need
too?To quell the
thoughts that maybe
ten years is all I've got.
What tensile strength
should I seek? Knowing
from experience That
a decade will pass like
two weeks.

You'll succeed!Hope
visits you everyday.
Younger and older
even the same age.So
save that stronger stuff
for the day you make
that leap because ,I know
you will.

Just think of a title
of a movie not so long
ago.See it if you haven't
and if you have,that's
you staring in your own nine and
half weeks.Seven of which
I don't have.

You are only half way!So quit your itchin
and find your inner vixen and find that
guy that's been looking for something to scratch.
I'll leave you with a quote from a Sheriff named
after his own show and my favorite Melodie to whistle.

"You beat everything! You know that!" JB

Using more than all the road!

I didn't enjoy the theme or subject matter because it makes me uncomfortable. But I have a deep respect and appreciation for heartfelt writing and the way words can do things like make people uncomfortable. Thank you for sharing. I wish you didn't have to. Rest assured, not a single, solitary person on the planet that hasn't had the same feeling at some point and to some degree.

It isnt always better to have loved & lost, than to never have loved at all. Any widow or widower can tell you that. Losing someone you love can be so painful that it might have been better to have never had them in your life than to love them so intensely that it creates physical pain when they are gone. I have lost 4 that I Loved that strongly during my life. One I was married to, One I would have married if she had said yes, two that were far more important to me than I realized untill it was to late! And one I may lose soon, unless I go 1st ! They have all enriched my life tho, so the verdict is still out as to whether I would have been better without them than with. Just thincing about that hurts even today !

If you think that love has passed you by, get in your car and put the pedal to the metal- catch up. Keep looking for your special person or else he will never show up. Going out and finding "your guy" should be an adventure; look everywhere and you will find him. Have some fun "looking" along the way.
