Ultimatums. A Poem

So you think you have
Something I want
Granted I need it
But it really depends
On who is giving it.

Are you sure
Of yourself
To the point of
Having no doubts?
Should I bow down
To your ego?

I will think about
What you have to offer
If you put a deadline
If it has a date
That expires.
That usually makes
Me shudder
And I will say no
Just as a course
For I am not a woman
Who only does
As she is told.
I will buck at such
Ultimatums.
Fair warning.
Treat me with gloves
That honey idea
Instead of vinegar
Is the better choice.

 No one likes a deadline, I am with you on that one. If you get such an ultimatum then the person giving it is normally not worth the effort!!!
