Something With More Substance. A Poem

He described himself to me
I told him I wish we
Had met two years ago.
When I was healthier.
He could have made
Me very happy
In what he and I
Could have been doing.
He says he liked to give
Before receiving
And had great stamina.
Those are two of my
Favorite male qualities
Along with a sense of humor.

We have little in common
Besides what we appreciated
About having sex.
He did not share
My love for writing
He did not care
About my poetry.
I get the idea
That he is
Not too deep.
But he still has
Exhibited feelings
But also shown
To be cavalier
About those of others.

So when I truly think
If we had hooked up
It would not have
Lasted very long.
I had too many of
Those interactions
In the past.
Now I want something
With more substance.
