The Shell The Shell. A Poem

The shell the shell
I say in my best
Tattoo imitation.
That is what I need
To look forward to
Not a plane
That is noticeable.

I have to get back
Into mine
Before I am
Further exposed
To the harshest
Of elements.
Yes they are
To my detriment.

Turtles can live
A very long time
It can be decades
One reason why
Is the shell
That offers protection
That other animals lack.

I know it will be
Safe again some day
Until then
My shell shall
Do what it does best
Protect me
From the harshness
That the world
Seems to possess.

 You could retreat into your shell like a turtle but after reading your blog I reckon you are tougher than that. if you fall off a horse you need to get right back on and try to ride again. I think that is what you will do. I hope so anyway!
