Someone's True Colors A Poem

Something made me feel
Like I was kicked in the gut
It was finding out
Someone I had thought
Was honest
Was far from that.
Someone I thought
Had integrity
Has shown
He has little
Or none.

It is true
That colors
May eventually show
In his case
It took years
For me to see them
And to know
For sure
That he was
Not the man
I thought I knew.

I have to get over
This momentary
Feeling of betrayal
I will not divulge
The particular details.
But it makes me feel
Like I said
I was kicked in the gut
And makes me
Think twice
About being on Senior Sizzle.

 So was this an imagined friendship, where you would text with each other everyday, for months , or did you actually organically get together and spend time with each other...

Because the imagined online situation is self explanatory, but the organic version is usually due to infatuation. During infatuation people tend to ignore the worst. Also ignored is friends usually saying, "That person isn't good for you [and they say why]".
