Stand Our Ground For Love A Poem

I started writing this poem two years ago. I am not sure why I did not finish it. But it came into view again so voila!

Stand Our Ground For Love

In this vast vast world
That spins around.
Human beings in the billions,
Is it any wonder
There are near misses.
Misses and chances
To find love.

Dearest Destiny,
Find the one for me!
Find the one that makes
Me see the light
Makes my senses take flight
Makes my heart sing!
Makes me have hope
That the world can and will be
A better place.

We perfect our stances
On what we like
We daily take our chances
To find someone
Perfect for us.
We wish and we want
We try and we try.
We should never stop!

To find that love
Amongst the throng
Amongst billions of folks.
It could be the rarest of rare.
It could be singular.
But it also could be spectacular!

The near misses.
Those interactions that are just
A tad less than perfect.
They are lessons
We all have to learn.
The stripes of love we earn.

By continuing our journey
Our search for the love
That makes us Generals
Standing tall.
Not backing down.
From fighting for that love
No matter what it takes.
When it comes
To love we need
To stand our ground.

 A very feisty poem. You should always fight for what you want and never stop looking until you find it! Never retreat,never surrender!!
