An observation Regarding the recent posts about bullying causing a blogger to feel like leaving, the support on one "side" or the other and various opinions in between... WHY??? Although I have only been involved in this blogging scene a couple months I have seen the tools available and the various ways any individual can use them to his or her advantage. If I am not mistaken, blogging is an open forum and we, as individuals, can choose what we want to write or display or share or WHATEVER!! I can only speak for myself, but I have not been visited by the blog goblin and had my arm twisted behind me, forcing me to view blogs or write anything specific etc. I have, however, read a few posts from a few bloggers who initially caught my interest but subsequent posts left me uninterested so I simply quit checking out the posts made by that person. See how simple it is? I look through the list of posts every day...I scroll the ENTIRE list and view EVERY title. If something catches my eye I'll open it and read. If I like the post and feel motivated to comment, I will. I follow several bloggers here and will always check out their posts, I may not always leave a comment, but I check them out none the less. If it is an intelligent post and I do not fully agree I will find a non offensive intelligent way to express my opinion on the matter. Seems like common sense to me  If I do not like something I choose NOT TO WATCH/READ/LOOK at it further. I do not feel the need to make derogatory comments about which I dislike because it is unnecessary, period. I will preface this next comment by clearly stating I am NOT picking on anyone in particular as I am sure there are more than a few people who have written about this...and I am merely bringing this up out of curiosity. I have seen it written that individuals will call out others on their proposed bullshit. Why? I am curious as to why someone feels the need to point out someone else's nonsense. I see bullshit all the time, usually it's an opinion and like assholes we all have them and we are all entitled to them. I learned long ago people have the right to say whatever they want and if I do not agree then I go another direction. Why start crap with others about whether or not their opinion coincides with yours? For the most part this blogging community appears to be a fun place, lots of humour going around, plenty of wit, interesting points of discussion and banter as well as a lot of cool pictures of places and things people want to share with others who may never get to experience them. Sounds like a nice thing to me. Why ruin it with petty bickering over differences of opinion?  Everyone is on a different plane of intelligence. Some people's plane has not taken off yet!!  |

I concur!!! Not sure what exactly is going on, but the first comment I got from someone that I didn't like, I deleted the comment. Hasn't been an issue. I am sure they are folks who don't like me, and they don't have to read anything I write. Maybe they are badmouthing those folks to everyone they talk to? I just don't know. Obviously it is affecting them to the point they want to leave or stop writing blog posts or whatever, and it is sad when immature crap comes down to that.

It does really suck that one person can force someone off the site.. I been bully before and I have left blogland for many years because of it. I just couldn't deal with the drama at the time. Why stay .. I really hope that she does stay as the bully wins each person they force off this site. She is top blogger on here and if she does post that username or handle to us bloggers I would give that person my thoughts.. She has the numbers behind her to take this person on. Post to Site Support as well.. I am sure once everyone's post that bully will be gone. Leaving just sucks.. I really hopes she stays.. hugssssssssss V Become a blog watcher sweet_vm

Although I'm still relatively new to blogging, I've been here a little longer than you and only now began discovering "blogville politics" and apparent power struggle. All that was foreign to me, and as ignorant as I was, my blog got attacked on few occasions by three different handles that shared the same attitude of a typical male chauvinist. I am not a fragile wallflower and can stand up for myself, which I did on every single occasion. Later, I learned that the same three handles kept harassing other female-bloggers to the extent that few harassed female-bloggers left not only blogville but the also this site. A few other bloggers and I decided to try and help others to deal with abusive people, point out the options we all have here. This was how my post "How dare they?!" came about. I've said it many times before and will say it again: everyone has an equal right to be here and say what they want as long as it doesn't violate Terms of Use. Making degrading/abusive comments/posts does violate the TOU and should be reported to the Abuse Team. All of us here should be able to blog in peace without stress of bullying. Been through the arrogance mill.Low numbers of posts,topics,block happy,taken the wrong way or out of context,inability to take their own criticizism,conciet and even conspiring with others to weed out those who don't fit in.Those are new type troll I have had to deal with.I wasn't aware of the politics or interested in them until you start seeing the pattern of those that campaign others to join there cause. Were seeing the imergence of a new type of troll based on jealousy of popularity and one that campaigns others to see things their way. I am one of the rare people who pay for my membership.I don't have to fill some quota of nonsense posts to justify a gold membership.When I caught wind of the top female blogger was talking about leaving it literally made me sick. Using more than all the road!

Well.....I am one that wrote a blog about bullying, referring to this case, but only did it after making several very polite comments to the lady who's threatening to leave, and a guy from Colorado, that took everything I said wrongly, and both got very nasty with me, to ultimately blocking me. I didn't' take sides, just pointed out the truth in my blog, and we all know how that hurts. Live and let live has always been one of my mottoes. I guess if by telling like it is, it means I won't see you on my blog anymore, and then, be it. It's your choice to make.WITHOUT PASSION LIFE IS NOTHING

Guess I'm lucky being on the other side of the world, so far I haven't been picked on. I have a friend on here that has gone through Hell a few times. I see blogland as a fun place. I don't care if I'm top blogger or not, I'm here for fun and chatting to other bloggers.

When this latest "vein" of ignorance started I missed it completely. I was an innocent, saw great friendships break apart right in front of my eyes. I, too, went where I wanted, commented when I desired, then one day PRO QUID QUO bit me in the ass. I was mentioned in a few posts as being an ass, for not commenting on something I had no opinion on. When this crap starts I ignore it, but it's hard to look the other way when someone is naming you in posts and comments. It's childish. I didn't have to do anything other than write a blog and comment on other blogs to be accused of being a Svengali and an impostor. Like you and mac, I was just having a good time. But after months of being dogged by a couple of assholes, I thought it was time to say something about it. Manipulative behavior will continue unless it's pointed out. Most of us would prefer to live and let live, but it only takes one asshole to fuck it up. An internet argument is usually best ignored...but not always. Sometimes you just have to speak up. The person speaking up isn't particularly comfortable doing so. In fact, it's a pain in the ass to be perceived as the resident Cassandra- it starts to drag on you. But somebody needs to point out that the emporer has no clothes, and it always seems to fall to someone with a social conscience, a sense of justice. This person will as often as not be accused of stirring the pot, of being a hater and a troublemaker. But I've dealt with that before. If you call out an asshole on his bullshit he will instantly go on the defensive and counter accuse YOU of being the troublemaker. Been there, done that, didn't shut up. KL ~ there is a LONG history of manipulations, bullying, deceptive & divisive behavior by BOTH the bloggers involved in this last scuffle. For 9 + years we have been putting up with queen bee's bs. I don't agree with the other blogger latest bs. But I wouldn't have shed a tear is the queen bee left, but this isn't the first time a mass exodus has been 'threatened'. It is her go to ploy. It gets to a point when it becomes hard to keep your mouth shut because this situation stinks of hypocrisy & manipulation. Many people want to believe the kool aid being passed as 'jealousy or sour grapes' by many of the queen bee. It's not, it's the queen bee's own past & continued behavior. At one point several years ago, the top bloggers spot was not like a viewing of 'game of thrones' in blogvile. Others have held the position with grace and elegance. It was a completely different community. There will always be some bad apples but not like it has been for the last 6 + years. I didn't drink kool aid, then or now. Do you have any Primal Urges ... For a blogging community to be manipulated in such a fashion is counter-productive, as I stated this is supposed to be fun for everyone and if you don't agree or like what someone is doing then don't go there I wonder, what is the reward for being a top blogger? I thought it was cool I moved up a bit but after the initial excitement...uhhhh...move on! KL ~ I agree but when other bloggers tried to have fun in the past ... queen bee does her level best to shit all over it by complaining, threatening, reporting, manipulation & deception ... there is one theme running wide & deep. 'A lot of bloggers left blogsville because of the atmosphere created'. The irony about this latest chaos is queen bee didn't create or start the 'picture blogging'. She used to complain, report & even bully others when it became a more practiced way of blogging. She became angered because others threatened her crown so she started throwing up pictures. For me this is no different than what she is crying about now ... if you read the comments about this chaos from long standing bloggers who left and came back, under their same handles or new ones, we are all outright saying the same thing or eluding to it. We have all been very quite about the things she has done in the past, thru posts & email. I agree the offending blogger needed to be addressed by the site and the post needed to be taken down. I believe, blogsville as a community should work together for justice & injustice. In the same vain, I believe it's hypocritical & manipulative to be outraged about behavior committed upon you that you have committed upon others. All that have spoken up become 'the haters' ... I don't hate the queen bee but I do find her continued, predicable behavior to be ugly, manipulative, deceptive, divisive, rude & cruel. Do you have any Primal Urges ...
