"The first bite is with the eye"...

Choosing photos for one's profile is pretty goddamn important - let's face it, it doesn't matter how interesting your profile is, if your pictures are lousy, that's going to be an automatic turn-off. So there's gotta be a fair bit of anxiety re: which pictures to use. Relaxed? Intense? Posing? Candid? An expression of restraint, a sexy come-hither glance, or looking like you're so sexually-charged you'd fuck an agave cactus and ask for seconds? And I won't even go into the realm of posting pictures of one's naughty bits. I'm sure the millions of guys on here have posted a goddamn cock-fest.

I admire anyone who can photograph well when they're smiling. Me? I can't do it. I can't smile on cue. Or at least, I can't make it look natural - I see a picture of myself smiling, it doesn't look like me at all. False congeniality. So, congrats to all of you can smile convincingly for photos. Me, I just have to NOT grin and bear it... Which is why in photographs I tend to look like I'm brooding/manic/psychotic.

I have no idea if the photos I've chosen for my profile are sufficiently representative of me or appealing to anyone else. Maybe my pics are writing me off in the first instance. Women going, "Hmmm, yeah, nah."

I'm not mewling for validation with this entry - I'm just thinking out loud. Well, typing. Y'all know what I mean.
