What's up with that?

In a recent post I ragged on my neighbors,
after thoughts on yard work....
{" I would have raked the yard but I have no rake"}

well he and his brother lived there for two months,
then suddenly moved in the middle of the night,
and left owing the land lady.

Then she asked me while, I was paying my rent, If I would,
cut the grass and rake on the other side, and work on the
flower box on that side,{3' X 5' box which is empty, but for the weeds} to better the curb appeal.

Well I knew, I would be stuck with these jobs, and really I don't mind it as, I am still laied off from work,
but I told her, I would if she would put in the next tenant's lease that they will be responsible for their own yard work.

She just laughed, and made some joke about if I can keep the next one from breaking the lease, will be good enough for me, and besides you do such a good job at it.
well we'll see if she is still laughing when I hand her a bill the next time I pay rent.

I think she'll compensate you. No need to bill her. Hold off and see if she really appreciates your efforts.

Tim may only be half evil but I'm really worried about that SapphosBro guy, let alone you dragon.

I'd have to agree with Sapphos here dear brother. If your doing the work for he then she should lower your rent. It only stands to reason that by doing the work for her your aiding her in the selling her property to perspective tenants.

Lets face it, if you didn't do it for her, it would me she'd have to hire someone to do so, or do it herself. It's always nice to do a favor for a friend, but if you reverse the situation. That is to say, one month you were a little short on the rent, would she give you the same consideration and let you slide?

When you do pay the rent, say your deducting some money for doing the yard work. She what she says then.

I think it would be reasonable for her to lower your rent for services performed. Nobody works for nothing.

A clever signature line...
