Hi flower, actually for the car in the pics a wet track was better. The wet took away a horsepower advantage the majority of my completion (Spridgets) had.

Far as the: I used to street race my 69 Camaro...never lost a race. In the 70s my first car was a 64 Impala SS. I built it so I could street drag off of Van Nuys Blvd; it went on a diet that removed about 700 lbs. That plus a few other modifications made it a Camaro ki11er. I wasn’t overly well known because no one wanted to admit an Impala beat them.

Looks like lots of fun

I had Mickey Thompson tires on that Chevy pickup when I went skating... if only they had been studded ... I could have left scratch marks all the way down the road

I've had them on trucks and cars. But they stopped making the tire I used to race the Fiat with.

I’ve done a few ovals too. Once at Phoenix International in the car pictured here. I also ran part of a season on a paved 3/8 mile and a couple dirt races in a different car.

The site was preparing to crash on me. I didn't know it yet- I made it as far as Tickles4us but couldn't post my comment there- I think. I haven't been back to look yet.

I hope it was faster than the Fiat X19, I out ran that one 3 times in a drag race with my '66 Valiant station wagon with a slant sick. And it was a little sick.
The 850 at best had a 903cc engine. Smallest engine the X19 had was a 1300 IIRC so on long tracks like Atlanta or a drag strip really couldn’t touch them. Hence the rain dances I referred to.

Nice, I used to hang out at the tracks a lot as a teen, my parents were big time racing fans, my stop dad was the pit steward, and my mom was scoring up in the scorer's booth..And I myself was once a trophy girl..

But the best thing about racing was waking up and finding the some of the pit crew sleeping in the living room..yummy..
Thank you. What kind of racing were your parents into? I like winning in part because of trophy girls – yum

Fiat 850 - yes, most people don't know what it is. H prod was a blast especially on shorter tracks like the ones that were close to you (Holtville & Carlsbad). On tracks like Atlanta I did rain dances to try to take the horsepower advantages away from the Spridgets.

The pics I have to give credit to the track photogs, the color scheme is mostly my layout based in part on my sponsor Mickey Thompson Tires and ABC Body Shop who did the paint. I’ve done some short track too; the most known track would be the old mile at Phoenix International.

I watch some NASCAR. The thing about going to a NASCAR race is it is more about the parties and atmosphere; the coverage of the actual race is better on TV, IMO.
