My First Year Of Blogging Here
My First Year Of Blogging Here I’ve been on the A*F*F/Pazzion site, on and off, since 12/2103 and blogging since January 2015. Here are some (not all) assorted things I have learned, experienced and posted about in that year. Some things I learned from blogging here: - The more different we say others are the more same we are. - Men and women probably lie on their profiles etc. equally. One difference may be in what they lie about. - There is a lot of antisocial stuff going on for a place that is supposed to be a “social network”. - FWB has more meanings than I could have imagined. - Saying you’re good at something is bad. Saying you’re “vanilla” is effectively a death sentence. - “No drama” means ‘I have tons of drama’. This applies to vanilla “dating” sites too, maybe more so. - Women want guys to just “be who you really are” and looks don’t matter that much. But don’t have a beard and/or hair and don’t be “vanilla”. - Paying to be a member here isn’t much different than being a non-paying member. My year sex-wise here: I met a woman here "ST" and we had “fun” (in & out) for about 3 months, then she didn’t like one of my posts and went silent. But she kept viewing my profile and I said “hi” each time. A month later she said “I got my panties in a bunch” and went silent again. WTF There was another woman and we had some “fun” together, after a month or so she went silent. A few weeks later, she said I wasn’t interested in her – I told her I was and she went silent again. WTF A third woman contacted me via IM, she started the conversation with “wanna play”. We did, knowing, going into it, it would be a one-night thing – and it was. Other Stuff: - Now that I can’t find the software for my camera I get asked for dick, and other, pics. Really, WTF - WTF should be a word. - Subject to a few exceptions . . . If you don’t get a local woman’s phone number within a couple days (a week max) of contact here you probably won’t end up meeting. If you don’t meet her within a week or so (2 weeks max) of getting her phone number you probably won’t end up meeting. Things I blogged about: In my years on this planet I have learned at least one thing. There are “good” and “bad” aspects of most things that happen. Here are a few of mine for 2015. Good: An ex-g/f “MG” came to me when her b/f “verbally and emotionally abused” her. Bad: Within 3 months of that she married him. WTF Good: Dude (my lil cat buddy) was in my life – Heeeerrres Dude a picture Bad: He was in pain and had to be put to sleep. He was only 6 years old and did not deserve to be gone so soon. I miss my little buddy a lot. Good: My friend Donald was in my life – we had some fun times. Bad: He couldn’t kick his alcohol habit and died from it – Alcohol amp Final Lap Good: My ex-Kath was around to help get me through an unexpected hospital stay and with Dude and Donald’s passing. There are no negatives with her. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. |

rates of deception are the same no matter what the site, about 80%. Wow, just to be clear 80% of people lie and 90% of that is about something stuff? My age is off because I don’t want ID info from any site available to be hacked, I won’t give job/career/income for the same reason. My is height right since it is average. The word “relationship” describes a lot of different kind of situations. Good info thanks for sharing. Despite what people might think, incidents off serious deception are really pretty small. What they measured were lies that people told specifically to enhance their online identities for dating/introduction sites. So it's the woman who lops 5 or 7 years off of her age and covers her greys or the guy who says he's 6 feet but is really only 5'10".

Men and women probably lie on their profiles etc. equally. One difference may be in what they lie about. My adviser in my MA program worked pretty extensively with the online dating/introduction companies and you are pretty much spot on. Across the board, rates of deception are the same no matter what the site, about 80%. The good news that 90% of that deception is minor stuff. Men and women lie/fib at the same rate but whereas men lie about height and job/career/income; women line about age and weight. FWB has more meanings than I could have imagined. Which is why I tell people to avoid cliches like FWB, NSA, booty call, or "I'm open to a relationship". Instead, I tell people to describe what the relationship you're looking for looks like. Well written RedRock...I always enjoy your blogs and your responses to mine. I am one of those who writes about things that actually happen to me and the usual funny outcomes. Sometimes there is no outcome, just opinions since I usually ask for them. Maybe it's because I love to write; I actually am writing a book about my life that has been in the works since 1999. Things keep changing for me so not sure I will ever finish it. Thank you for a year filled with your wisdom and insights. I guess we all have our experiences here in blogland but I sure do enjoy the camaraderie MOST of us have...there are one or two we know we can live without. Maybe eventually they will find their way back under the rock they slithered out from....lol God bless, and look forward to more great reading from you! {=} {=} KCClaire0923 Anyone who knowingly participates in the anti-social stuff here makes the experience unpleasant and I avoid that as much as possible. “more great reading from you” Nothing like a little pressure. Happy Senior Sizzle anniversary. What do you mean "don't have a beard"? I LOVE men with beards. Hmmm....maybe you should widen your horizons regarding women...if there are no local ones of interest I hear Canada is a good place to...hunt. Hint hint nudge nudge. Your exactly right about things learned from the site. A smart person tends to learn quick on here or else you fade away. there are a lot of very good people on this site, and one has to go with the good and the bad to kind of stay afloat. Enjoy your blog, and don't quit !! When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I thought you'd been here longer than a year. That's nice your Ex helped you out when you were ill and down about your 2 buds passing. I know my Ex wouldn't do anything for me. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Has it been worth it for you? Good question, I've met some cool women in person and onsite so that is a good thing. Nothing "regular" so far so there is that. I miss my lil buddy Dude a lot. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
