What Kind Of Tool – Quality vs. Other
What Kind Of Tool – Quality vs. Other Social/dating/sex sites are essentially tools for communication. As with most tools there are quality ones, and cheap ones. Quality tools do the job very well practically every time, cheap ones sometimes barely get the job done once. Quality tools cost more because they are well built and last a long time. Cheap tools cost much less because they are cheaply made and may only suffice for limited use. Quality tools hold or increase in value. At best a cheap tool can be recycled and its materials reused for another purpose, but they usually end up being worthless. Quality tools are usually pretty easy to use; a cheap tool can be frustrating and can make a simple task difficult. Quality tools often have guarantees and you can get a replacement fairly easily. Cheap tools never have substantial guarantees and/or they are misleading. Quality is something that requires integrity and a conscious mindfulness to maintain. If those efforts are not maintained the product can lose the characteristics that made it as good as it was. It becomes cheap. Social/dating/sex sites are essentially tools for communication. What kind of tool do you think Pazzion/A*F*F et al is? When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. |

For me, the blog section is the best asset of the site. Others probably enjoy the free live cams and free IMing. These tools are what keeps most 'standard' members active here. The email debacle. I understand the business decision to implement restrictions. The manner [no prior warning] and the enforcement though are questionable. What irks me the most is that past messages stored on the system are blanked out, as well as those sent after the policy change. Obviously email is 'content' that belongs to the site, not to the person who created it. My email messages, past as well as present, are now content used to blackmail the intended recipient, for the benefit of the owners of the system. I am referring to all past emails sent by me to standard members. These messages were created on the understanding that it was content to be used only by myself and the recipients, not to be used as a moneymaking tool for the system. I was ok with my pictures [or with posted videos] being 'used' to generate income for the system, allowing only premium members to access them. I knew the rules, and I had the option to participate in the 'scheme' or not. Past private emails, I don't understand how TPTB, can justify as legitimate moneymaking content. Retroactively, that is. Every system [the site, in this case], is only as good as the users of the tools that the site/system provides. Place restrictions on the tools for a specific set of users, and affected users will find ways to mis-use the other tools that they still have access to. Waiting to see what standards will use as workarounds I haven't heard of a 'standard' female profile being affected by the email blackout. So, will more fake female accounts spring up now? I understand the business decision too, but the manner [no prior warning] was just wrong and damages the paying members the most. And yes, past messages should be accessible and are of no value to the site(s) unless they plan to blackmail people. When you say “Every system [the site, in this case], is only as good as the users of the tools that the site/system provides.” That is true. However, different people can use the same tool, for the same purpose, and each can get different results. That is not the consequence of whether the tool is a quality or cheap tool, but of differences in the users. I see you have a private inbox post as many of us do now. But I can see them restricting that or the blogs at some point too. I didn’t realize the email change affected only male standard users. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

These guys aren't too bright business-wise. See my reply to Life2B. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

You hit the nail on the head when you referred to them as "Tools"! When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I don't think I'd want to assign a number to my rating but overall It's a better site than most, but like life2belived points out, I use it differently too. It's all about the blogs and social networking for me, and a neat side benefit is perving the profiles of all the gorgeous women here. I like blogging where I can speak openly like a sexual deviant if I choose too, and I enjoy the company of other deviants. I've investigated other blogging venues and they just don't have the pizzazz of this one. The new mail restrictions have a direct impact on that. I think it will mean less members and less opportunity for interaction, and for me that's a big negative. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I imagine they may do as you suggest to get their financial situation in better shape. I’m just not sure that the loss of potential customers is a good way to achieve that goal. Re: “They really can do anything at all since they own the site” To a point yes. But there is a contract involved with Gold members and there are “practices” that after a time become, by common law, contractual policy. As if a group of people here could become cohesive enough to become a class of people to sue Various. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

From my experience redrock...I' d give it a solid 4 out of 5. We use it differently than you, I believe. We have used many of the sites on-line and so far as consistent contact and actual follow up (no flake outs) Senior Sizzle takes about a 75% lead over the rest. Whether the people here are flakes etc. is/can not realistically be a function the site has any control over. There is no realistic way to police intentions. I have arranged meets with 6 women and met all 6. But that is about those person(s) not the site or its functionality. And, you still have to communicate with someone to arrange a meet. While Pazzion may be “better” (and I don’t necessarily disagree) than other sites, the other (sex dating) sites I checked out were mediocre on various levels. So if Pazzion/etc. is better the bar was very low to begin with. That said, this site, as a tool for the primary use as a communication device, has gone down hill in the short time (about 2 years) I have been here. This email change affects practically ALL those who communicate here. At very least there will be less members to choose from. Given the criteria I posted about and what I just wrote – I would give it a 2 out of 5. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
