Sophia Loren, a hero is more than a sandwich and a spomb

So I go to the local sub shop (NOT Scumway) today for lunch. In part I go to a particular one because there are 2 nice women working there and they know what I like. One is, I’m guessing, in her late 20s (maybe 30ish), about 5’ 6”, has dark hair (my preference), beautiful eyes, and “olive” skin (yum). Given her look (Italian like) I kind of think of her as Sophia Loren – but with a less “exotic” looking but very pretty face. The other woman is in her 40s (a guess), about 5’ 2” ish, thin, blonde, fair skin, a pretty face and a pleasant attitude. “Sophia” is unattached (I sort of asked one day) because “guys are intimidated by” her – she does come across as being quite smart. I’ve been tempted to ask her out but the age difference is a thing – but daammmn.

So . . usually when I get there it is after the lunch rush – not today. As I’m waiting in line I overhear a couple guys talking about McCain and Trump and the whole hero thing. My mind says its semi-ironic they are talking about heroes in a sub/hoagie/hero shop. I drift to a line from one of my favorite movies – you’ll have to read further to read what that line is. Then “Sophia” says hi and asks if I want “her” last Honey/Oat bread, sometimes I leave the last one for her. I smirk and say yes – she gives me a kind of squinty-eyed look (like Clint Eastwood saying ‘go ahead eat my bread’) she has a spunky attitude. I drift again and wonder if under her work apron is even more Sophia Loren like – damn temptation. She catches me staring at her and sticks out her tongue, a beautiful tongue it is – damn it, really! ! ! Like I need more temptation. I say, “Easy on the sauce please, you’re making me fat”. She shoots an extra lil squirt on my meat – hummm, did I mention she’s spunky? As I hand her the dough (pun semi-intended) I stick out my tongue at her. Her eyes light up and her mouth forms a big O – more damn temptation.

As I head home I drift yet again to what a Trump hero would be made of. So only because of its namesake’s current popularity the following may be recommended to be on the menu at your local sub/hoagie/hero/sandwich shop.

I present the Donald Trump hero: Like any sandwich it begins with bread. Unfortunately on a Trump Hero it’s bread has too much dough and is half-baked.

Bologna – because he is full of it. Turkey – because he is foul. Mayo – because it’s fat and white. Lettuce – because he has a lot of lettuce. Other stuff – no we can’t be specific. No jalapenos – the good ones are still in Mexico.

Could Donald S have meant this line for Donald T?
“To a New Yorker like you, a hero is some type of weird sandwich . . .”
There is another line from the same movie that could very well apply here. Can you guess what it is?

As with any Trump meal the following disclaimers are necessary:
It will be presented on a dirty plate, without tablecloths or linens or silverware because there won’t be anyone to clean them. It comes with a plastic combination spoon and comb – a ‘spomb’. So when you find a hair in it you can scoop it out . . . or comb it over.

It does not come with fruit or vegetables because there won’t be anyone to pick them.

Trump meals will not be served to you – like it’s namesake they are self-serving.

Upon completion of any Trump meal you will become like its namesake – loud, full of crap, offensive, explosive, and flipping and flopping without direction.

When you get sick from/of this, and you will, he will dodge any apology, like he dodged the draft.

Your questions, answers or comments (agreeing or disagreeing in a respectful way) are encouraged and welcome.

Well as long as she sticks something out at me I would find a way to handle it. I've been on the wrong end of an Italian tirade.before - don't care to repeat that experience.

Well THAT ruined my appetite! Excellent tale!
Was your lunch some sort of smoked meat? I heard there is a medication you can “ingest” for nausea.

Sophia Loren? huh? I'd have thought you dug tall dark Russian babes, go figure.

Line from the film? Hmm... could be any of them but hows about:

"Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? "
You gots it Joisy - I love that movie. The spaghetti western music is one of the funniest things I ever saw/heard. Lots of great lines too. Donald S a hippy in 1944 and doing his "dog imitation". The line I was thinking of is by Don R. (Crapgame) "A DEAL, deal! Maybe the guy's a Republican. "Business is business," right?"
