Upgrade to read a message?

Ok, the individuals that run Senior Sizzle have irritated me again, although I should not be surprised.

First, about the middle of last year (2015), the system said I had almost 10000 points, and then they (Senior Sizzle) cut it to less than half. No explanation given. When I inquired what happened to all those points (roughly 6000), the response I received was paramount to "We are looking into it and will get back to you.". Not surprisingly, I never heard a word back from them. Fine.

Now today, I log into my account and the little envelope pictogram indicates I have a message. Normally any messages I receive concern some contest Senior Sizzle is running for a holiday of some sort... you know, dress up as your favorite sexy patriot for Independence Day... that sort of thing. Today's message was different, as it was actually sent by a person with an account and not Senior Sizzle corporate. That doesn't happen often, but it does happen occasionally. This time, unlike those previous times when I received messages I could not read the message, as it was blurred out. Instead I had a comment at the bottom that said, essentially, "Upgrade now to read the message."

To the people running Senior Sizzle, my response is this... No.

I can understand if you want me to upgrade to initiate contact as I know that gold and silver members have benefits that I, as a standard member, do not. I can deal with that, but I should be able to read messages that other members send to me. I have received messages from other members in the past and never encountered a problem reading those messages. Why Senior Sizzle decided to pull this "upgrade" nonsense with this particular message, I have no idea.

So, to the "honest girl" (as she described herself in the profile that I can see in the "who viewed me" section), I thank you for writing but I must apologize at not being able to respond to your message since Senior Sizzle won't let me even read it, let alone respond.

To Senior Sizzle, the next message you send regarding some contest you are running you can just "blur" like you did to the message I received from this "honest girl" since most messages I receive from Senior Sizzle are junk anyhow.

Use your points to become a top fan of "Honest girl" and you will be able to read the message. A lot of standard members also have a blog mailbox.

Admittedly, that is an option that I will need to look into. My whole point was that if they (Senior Sizzle) want me to initiate contact, I could see why they would insist I upgrade. Having another member contact me but not having the ability to read that message somehow seems like cruel behavior to me...
