Romance scams rank number one on total reported losses
Scams that prey on people's loneliness,horniness and overall emotional vulnerability cost Americans more money than any other fraud reported to the Federal Trade Commission in 2018. Last year more than 21,000 people reported, and my guess it's twice that amount sent money to potential lovers -- to the tune of $143 million, the FTC reported earlier this week.

The victims who were swindled most often? Those between the ages of 40 and 69. Was that you or one of your friends?
