I flew to San Antonio to visit my fav woman today!!! I flew to San Antonio to visit my fav woman today!!! I hadn't seen my mom since this past July, and I needed to take a flight on AA as my miles were about to expire... so, I killed multiple birds with one stone... I booked my flight a couple of weeks ago, and took off this morning at 9:00 am... I called my mom when I landed... she was just having her coffee, and I told her I would see her around 10:30 or so... She was so excited... and, we watched the proceedings of the pope in Philadelphia... she is so happy that the pope is from Argentina, close to our little country of Ecuador... and, she loved the fact that he spoke Spanish... She was like a little girl today... she told me stories about her childhood, and her early years in marriage... some, I'd not heard before, most, I had to finish the sentences for her as she loved to talk... and I did not want her to have to worry about missing names of people in the story... It was a fun day. I wanted to take her out to a nice lunch, but, she wanted to see what the pope was doing... so, we stayed at her house... She has a lovely condo in San Antonio... it's cozy, a two-bedroom, two-bath... my sister and one brother live within 5 miles of her house, so she has what she needs... On this visit I was reminded of another blogger's post this week, where she talked about issues with her father... Well, once a person starts to lose some of their marbles, you no longer are dealing with that person from a long time ago... years ago, I spoke to my mom, and told her that I forgave for all of the things that she said and/or did... she looked at me and said that she didn't need my forgiveness. I told her I needed to have said that... Now, I had come to terms with what was said and what had happened... and, so, I can be with my mom and talk... usually, she does the talking and, I just finish the sentences... I took a pic of us and posted it on FB and all of my connections responded within a couple of hours... she was amazed how people around the globe could respond to a picture of me and her so quickly... I told her, welcome to the 21st century... Several people called her today, and she told them to call back after 5:00 pm because one of her sons had flown in just to visit with her, and she couldn't be bothered... I liked that... My brother came by at 3:00 pm and I was starving since my mom had had a late breakfast, she put me off on lunch... so, my brother suggested we pick up sandwiches at Jimmy Johns... My mom said she wasn't hungry but, we grabbed her her fav sandwich which she devoured... I had to leave at five to catch my plane back to Dallas... and, she was sad to see me go... Nice to hear that you've got to see her, and part of your family...........don't know just important having a family is until you have none. WITHOUT PASSION LIFE IS NOTHING

I did get to see my mom... You are so right... people don't know how important things are until they are gone... I think that goes for many things... my grandfather used to tell me that if you had something to say to someone, you had better say it, because you never know if you'll get the chance some other time... and, I have tried to do that... although, sometimes, people look at me funny... and, say, what brought that up... and, I say... You only get one chance to say something or to let someone know you are thinking about them. Life is too short to miss those opportunities and even more so as we get older. Now when I think about someone that I haven't seen or talked to in awhile, intake it as a sign and make sure I get in touch. Sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your Mom and made her day!

Hi __ruoutthere2006. thanks for reading and commenting on my blog... I'm sorry for your loss... I lost my dad when I was 8 and my advice to people that have their parents is to appreciate them every day... What a small world it is... when I wrote this post I just said to myself, what the heck... I'm going to right another non-erotic real post about my trip yesterday... and, wouldn't you know it, it seems to have it some positive nerves out in blogland... I'm glad about that... and, that is so cool that you went to Philadelphia to see pope Francis. I bet that it meant so much to you... Good for you... I know the joy that I get when I get to see or meet people in person that I truly want to see... All of my senses are hyper activated... and, I will remember those moments for the rest of my life. I am glad that you are enjoying reading this novice's posts... Every now and then I will surprise with simple truisms of me... That's good that you also had a good time visiting with his mom and brother... And, I hadn't told my mom about the visit... Others knew I was coming... but, since my mom's memory is not what it once used to be she can get agitated when she knows someone is going to visit but it may be days or weeks off... Hello curious woman... Yes, my mother as I am, is from Ecuador. Yes, I am fluent (read, right speak), however, my vocabulary is not the same as it is in Spanish, so my ability to interact is much better writing in English... Now, with some of my bloggers from Spain who's English is not so good, I've had to respond to them in Spanish, and I lose a bit of wit so to speak!!! I hope you have a nice visit with your mom...
