Shoes
Shoes The shoe post updated I was shoe shopping online tonight and I thought it made me think of something I'd like to share. I've taken such an even and gradual approach to transitioning. The laser treatments took three years and that was always the backdrop to every step I took. As the shadow faded from my face and it went from rough to smooth, my wardrobe also evolved. Now nothing I wear - at work, or anywhere else, comes from the men's department. Not to say I show up at the office wearing a short skirt and stockings. It's all age and work appropriate for any woman. Same in public where I also add things like jewelry, more makeup and lipstick. I've still yet to have the "going out on the town" moment where overtly feminine clothing is acceptable for any woman, regardless of age. That'll be the moment I confront the world head on. That's also the reason I've not accepted any of the very kind requests I get to meet in the real world. I have to experience that moment by myself before I experience it with a potential romantic partner. Now back to the shoes. For me, the measure of how "feminine" shoes for work are is how much of the top of my feet can be seen. That ratio has increased quite a bit in the last year for me. Now I'm buying some new ones and I have to decide how far I want to take the next step. The will resonate with some of you reading this and seem silly to others but it's actually very serious for me. After they arrive, I'll post a picture of what I chose Love, Jamie UPDATE: February 6, 2015 - my new shoes, if anyone cares Picture below, with jeans. I think these make a statement of femininity. Would love to hear from you on what you think |
