Transgender Bathrooms

Gonna break my silence on this issue since i have had many ask me bout this n also cause have 2 many ppl speaking 4 me that have idea what they r talkin about. Dont put a label on me and put a set of values on me that label entails. It most likely isnt true. If you hear someone labeling and grouping ppl it is most likely cause they want 2 exploit you. The way i look at this issue is from personal choice. I have choosen 2 never make anyone else uncomfortable by going into a bathroom of either gender when anyone could identify me as the other. When i was younger and not passable i would (unless an absolute emergancy) stay away from public community bathrooms and if i did i would use the one others would see me as. Run in.. use the stall and get out quick. Why? cause even though i wasnt passable i was clearly not fully male and it would make ppl uncomfortable. I was the one who choose to defy social norms and saw no reason to force my choice on others. Do not confuse this with going along for the greater good (an argument that has supported many a dictatorship) Now that noone sees me as male i still avoid such bathrooms. Why? I dont want to make others uncomfortable. At this point noone sees me as trans unless they know already. So should there be a law? I think no. Why? Cause the govt needs to stay out of it. Cause some freaks will abuse it and make a bad name for other trans. My goal has always been to pass. When i totally pass then noone will ever even question. Is it tough b4 that happens? absolutely. Is it bad we have to find ways around it? yes. Was it our choice to follow this path? yes. I take all the good and the bad with my transition. There has been lots of pain and societal rejection. There has also been lots of joy. It is my life. We are societal creatures and that is the way it is. If i cant pass as a gender... no way would i go into a bathroom that i wasnt seen as part of. I am an adult.. i will find a way. I am trans and a stronger person for that struggle.

Just my thoughts on this. now back 2 cats >^.^<

Hi Jessi :
Living in North Carolina I know all about HB-2 the law. However, not the personal struggles an individual going through a gender change is faced with on a daily basis. Having read your blog I admire your forthrightness and your courage but agree hold hardheartedly with the pretense that you made a conscience decision to changed your gender. I also agree the government needs to stay out of it, they're far to corrupt.....only good for blowing up Shit.
If more transgender folks strive to be passable and Identify with their new gender they'd have less to fear in a public bathroom setting. You mentioned some freaks will abuse any law from the government and make a bad name for other transgenders. That is probably the biggest fear of all for the general public and transgenders alike that some pedophilia doesn't use an (HB-2) law further his/her sick addiction.
I have to admire this and all transgenders should look up to you, Quot " If i cant pass as a gender... no way would i go into a bathroom that i wasn't seen as part of. I am an adult.. i will find a way."
Rock On Jessi
