Happy Friday

Well Christmas is done and time to take on a new subject.
I am a music freak. I love all types of music, or as I like to say, Merle Haggard to Metalica. Been to several concerts from Chicago at Royals Stadium, before it was named the K. To Kansas at Hammersmith Odeon in London. I was the cool Dad and took my to see Metalica for his 21rst birthday. I got contact highs there big time and I think I enjoyed the show more than he did. I've seen Rush several times, along with the aforementioned Kansas. Seen Brad Paisley and several country shows due to my folks love of country music. I've seen George Benson, would love to see Al Green and think of how it must have been to see Frank Sinatra in his prime. Like I said, I love it all.
This week marked the passing of one of my favorites, Joe Cocker. One of the first albums I bought as a was his Mad Dogs and Englishmen live concert set. I can still hear the songs to this day playing on my little Monkey Wards "Stereo" in my room and my Dad hollering in for me to turn down that N&*^%r music....LOL. Me trying to imitate Joe's singing, totally getting it wrong of course. Thinking his song High Time We Went as the sound track for many parties when I was a . Watching the famous Saturday Night Live show where John Belushi imitated Joe while he was singing. Trying to get my 8 Track set up in my car so when I had Miss High School Sweetheart alone it would cue to You Are So Beautiful. Watching with my then wife, An Officer and a Gentleman and enjoying the song Up Where We Belong more than the movie. After all it was a chick flick. And who can forget the footage from the Woodstock movie of him doing the Beatles Get By With A Little Help From My Friends.
In many ways some of Joe's songs could be a soundtrack for my life.
The man also did work with on his ranch in Colorado with his wife.

I know that this may not be a Happy Friday blog entry to some, but to me it is. I am recalling all my Joe Cocker moments with a big smile on my face saying Thank You Joe for all the memories.

And if any Ladies would like to join me for any new Joe Cocker moments, drop me a line (You know I had to fit that in here somewhere..LOL )

My Name is Dean and I am a Blogoholic

Good memories = Happy ... who could doubt that!
I was stunned when I heard about Joe Cocker's passing the other day - Up where we belong was the first duet I ever sang in Karaoke! = Good Memory

Another voice of my youth gone quiet. Like you, I love all kinds of music.

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.
