love the swan ... the poopie geese I can do without eh  I like them both. There were quite a few swans that day and they even flew around the lake a few times. I tried to get a good shot of them on the wing but most of those didn't turn out well.Become a member now and get a free tote bag.

No, but she does take off after squirrels and deer. But to her credit, she comes back when I call her off. She's pretty gentle. I doubt she'd stand up to a goose or a swan. Become a member now and get a free tote bag.

That lakefront is beautiful. It was hard for me to get used to the lake being to the south at first. I know the geese shit all over the place, but they're really pretty cool birds. Swans are easily twice their size. Become a member now and get a free tote bag.

With all the ugliness we are enduring now, it is so nice to see the beauty in our country. I had a Gracie at one time. What a wonderful friend they can be. Thank you for those awesome pics. Gracie is hard headed, stubborn, willful and smart as a whip. When I have to walk her on a long lead, she knows to walk around trees on the correct side to avoid putting them between us. When she wanders into the brush, she'll retrace her footsteps exactly, again so as not to get tangled. She'll walk at heel off leash and she moves to the trailside for bicycles. She found a lost walkie talkie for a hiker one day by getting the scent of the remaining one. I let her sniff it and told her to go find it. She walked forty feet or so and stood over it til I picked it up. That dog is no dummy. Become a member now and get a free tote bag.

Geese get a bad . They're loyal and faithful, they aggressively defend their territory and their young, they refuse to sit down and be silent and they're really quite beautiful. Thank you Annette! The mature forest here is open under the canopy and often thick with undergrowth wherever the sun penetrates, like along the edges and where one of the giant trees has gone down.
