A deeper look

It's time for a deeper look into the old bastard.

I was the black sheep of a christian family, blamed when one of my cousins did something that was frowned upon. Blamed for my mothers suffering as she died because I was not saved. I did not believe and was doomed to suffer in hell, at least according to one Aunt.

Well I do have my beliefs, I have my gods.

Mother Earth: Without her we would be adrift, at the mercy of the four winds. I can use what she has to offer for shelter, food and clothing. In her realm dwell the other elements, Wind, Fire and Water. We can use their power, but can't control them. With them she reshapes herself and heals herself. An ever changing world that will be here long after we're gone, Mostly by our own hands.

Father Sun: He gives me light, He warms me, in the rays of his light there is life giving energy, energy that can take a life too. My favorite time of the day is the sunset, When father Sun kisses Mother Earth goodnight, she smiles, blushes and it reflects across the sky. A gesture that will be repeated in the morning, only not a vibrant as she is not quit awake. There are those days when she blocks him out. She will cry, whip a storm of rage, but he is always there waiting for her to open up to him, at which point he will give a ring of many colors to show his love for her.

Sister Moon and the Stars: They light the night sky so I shall never walk this land in total darkness. I believe the stars contain the souls of those who have gone on before and a falling star is a sign of a soul returning to take its place back here on earth.

I do not pray to my Gods, they don't listen, But I will on occasion thank them. If there is a heaven, I don't want to go and hell is what many live in already in their minds. So what is the purpose of our being? I have a few theories as do many others. In the end there is only one way to know for sure and I'm not in a hurry to find out.

And May the Gods smile upon you my friends.

And I'm just going to put my comment here about your terrible 2017 year-end post...I was happy it was over as well. Here's to a better 2018.

 Hi, I am sorry to read about what seems to have been an awful experience with your family. However, I really liked the comments about Mother Earth, Father Sun and Sister Moon and the stars.

I hope 2020 is kinder to you but I admit, its not off to a great start for anyone. Still, there is always hope and time for positive thoughts.
