 I think the whole "Barbie doll" look is overrated and also unrealistic.

Many women (or men for that matter) who eat healthy, exercise regularly, and live a normal, healthy lifestyle don't have the Barbie (or Ken) body.

That being said, a healthy partner with a little extra padding (or no padding at all), a decent amount of stamina, and a great personality beats the Barbie & Ken Dolls -- who in general, tend to have a bit of a jaded attitude, unfortunately.

And for the flakes you've met, instead of saying they're interested it's better to just keep writing and having a good conversation to show they're interested.
Sorry to get all cliche but, "actions do speak louder than words."

Men have the same problem with a partner writing or saying one thing, and then another. Definitely a none gender specific problem

 Well I hate to say this but from my experience most often the really beautiful people from either sex just want the really beautiful people from the other sex. People make choices what they want. Unless you play with anyone on here, you have choices too. May I ask why women can make choices but Men are not allowed to? I do understand the frustration on people not following through after they have said they were interested. I have had the same several times here myself.
